Age Friendly Thunder Bay recognizes seniors of distinction by acknowledging and celebrating one deserving senior from Thunder Bay and area who has met the award criteria will be awarded the Rebecca Johnson Age Friendly Thunder Bay Senior award. Each year a Senior will be recognized for their Volunteer Service and Commitment to their community.

Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for the Rebecca Johnson Age Friendly Senior Service Award, the senior must meet the following criteria:
Be 65 years or older.
Has contributed to the enrichment of the social, cultural, or civic life of the Thunder Bay community.
Has made this commitment without thought of personal or financial gain.
Is not a previous recipient of the award.
Provided the special work or service during/after the age of 65.
Must be a current resident of Thunder Bay and/or District.
Letters of support are recommended. They should be from those benefitting directly from the volunteer service, and if possible, include how often the volunteer provided the service.
